Caritas (Love) implements the charitable & social work of the Catholic church in an organized, efficient & transparent way.
 
Caritas is an international organization with more than 160 independent members. It is the second largest organization after the UN and it is always at the forefront of humanitarian and social crises, war and natural disasters. Caritas cares for all human beings, regardless of gender, race, religion, political beliefs and culture.
 
In Greece, Caritas Hellas, has been operating since the early 1980s; In 1994 it has acquired the legal status of a recognized Charity Organization. Its headquarters are in Athens and its members are 11 Diocesan Caritas throughout Greece. It operates under the auspices of the Holy Synod of the Catholic Hierarchy of Greece for the Pastoral of Charity, Beneficence, and Social Support, focusing on the needy, vulnerable and socially excluded fellow human beings.
 
Caritas Hellas coordinates operations in emergencies, implements social work and advocates for a better and fairer world for all people.
